The pass, in detail
The short version lives on the pass page. This is the full version.
How the money reaches you, in three steps.
One: stake your pass in the contract. A pass earns only while it is staked. An unstaked pass earns nothing.
Two: it starts earning from that moment. The pool is split among the passes staked at the time. A pass staked late never touches revenue from before it staked.
Three: claim what it earned yourself, as often as once every 6 hours. The first claim opens 6 hours after your first stake. Every claim restarts that clock. A settled balance never expires.
The contract does the paying. There is no team-run payout bot.
The arithmetic, on a slow month. Say traders pay 2,000 HYPE in total fees over a month. The platform half is 1,000 HYPE. After referral payouts, say all of it stays: 35% of that is 350 HYPE for the pass pool. Split across all 707 passes staked the whole month, each pass is owed about half a HYPE.
Fewer passes staked means more per staked pass. A busier month pays more. A dead month pays close to nothing. We print this arithmetic instead of a yield number, because a yield number would quietly assume the busy month never ends.
Selling a pass: unstake first. Everything it earned until the unstake settles to you. The settled balance stays claimable, under the same 6-hour clock. The buyer stakes it and earns from their own moment. Staking is also what switches on the 0.75% trade fee and the 20% referral rate. One scope note for today: on the current testnet, the quest pass stakes into its own pool and earns there, while the trade fee and referral benefits belong to the main pass set.
There will never be more passes. The cap of 707 is written into the contract, with no second collection and no edition two.
